Wakestock 2010 - WWA Series (3rd Stop)

With Wakestock being the third stop of the WWA Series and the top riders from around the globe coming to compete for the tittle it was set to be a fantastic weekend in Abersoch. Our role at Wakestock was to supply the best wakes for the best riders and this was done with our Malibu Wakesetter VLX. The weather was mixed and created some interesting conditions for the riders, practice day was one of the quietest in the 11 yr wakestock history due to the testing conditions. We then had fair conditions for the Friday & Saturday qualifications but Sunday's final was probably some of the worst conditions a event had been run in with sideways rain and howling winds. World class riders such as Philip Soven and Aaron Rathy managed to go out and put a run together that most riders would be happy with on a lake that resembled a mirror.

LDB Wake School Take Delivery -

2010 Wakesetter VLX

'It's the start of a new season, and for most clubs and wakeboard schools that means getting a new boat. Well today Mr. Lee Debuse met in Thorpe with David Webster from D2 Marine to receive the delivery of LDB Wake School's brand new Wakesetter VLX. The new boat in a tidy black, white and green colour scheme to match the LDB logo, is fresh from the states this week, and after some running in Lee had his first customers out on the boat. So I headed down to meet George Newell who was keen to test out the wake.

After 15 minutes in cold weather with a ripped wetsuit, George still had the same smile on his face that all Lee's customers have had today as the wake on the new VLX is top notch. For 2010 Relentless Wakestock will be the 3rd stop on the WWA World Wakeboard Series. This means that the top riders in the World will be guaranteed to join us in North Wales for Europe’s largest wakeboard music festival, with bigger prize money and better riding over the 3 days.

There will be a new qualifying event which will take place on June 12th at a UK location to be announced. This ensures more riders have the chance to prove themselves worthy of being in the most anticipated event on the wakeboard calendar. Riding standards for both men & women will be much higher right from the word go on Friday 2nd July next year, and the final on the Sunday will be without a doubt, well worth being a part of down at Pwllheli Inner Marina.
